How judges score a burnout.

Instant smoke:

Instant smoke is judge in the first couple of metres of the burnout, scoring is based on the amount of Instant Smoke. The thicker and bigger the burnout smoke the higher the Score .

Constant Smoke:

Simply if the car produces an amount of smoke from the start & can maintain Constant Smoke throughout the entire burnout, then that entrant will receive high points. If at any point the smoke thins out or stops then judges will score down accordingly.

Driver Control:

Simply judged according to how well the entrant drives and controls their car, & how they use the space on the pad. Drivers must keep moving. An entrant will be marked high if he/she shows complete Driver Control. Drivers are marked down for stopping, or choosing reverse if they get caught and cannot move forward. Points will be deducted for hitting guard rails or barriers.

Vehicle Performance:

Judged on the overall Vehicle Performance . With emphasis placed on the entrant maintaining constant engine revs and gear selection throughout the burnout. Points deducted for valve bouncing, misfire or major fluid loss.

Note: The chief judge has the final say.
